United Protection Services Inc. was formed in 1985 in Edmonton, Alberta in response to the need for an enhanced level of private security. The growth and success of the Company has since been spectacular. From its beginnings (one guard, one car and one dog), the Company now employs in excess of 900 professionally trained, highly skilled officers in 14 branch offices located across Canada.
United specializes in high impact, high visibility, and high risk security situations coupled with one of the broadest ranges of services in the industry.

The Company’s outstanding growth record is the result of being a prominent leader and innovator in Western Canada. Much of that growth has come through an ongoing expansion strategy utilizing an aggressive acquisition and partnership program, culminating in 17 acquisitions in 17 years.

Other innovations include the formation of an Aboriginal employment and training division, an automated technology division, “Live” video monitoring of remote and high risk sites, and a K-9 service division specializing in Explosives, Firearms and Narcotics detection.

The Company is committed to a long range plan of providing an elite corps of the most professional security personnel in Canada and beyond, ultimately with international involvement.
In 2004 the Company executed a reverse takeover of a Company listed on the TSX-Venture Exchange, which propelled United into the public marketplace. The objective of this acquisition was to provide the basis for funding future growth and expansion by accessing the equity markets.

This positions the Company to take full advantage of situations in the current operating environment, offering significant growth opportunities for the Company to move aggressively to the next stage of its development strategy.
